Born by Revolution: Exam (Rozhdyonnaya revolyutsiey: Ekzamen)

Born by Revolution (Rozhdyonnaya revolyutsiey) is a Soviet made for TV historical films series, released in 1974-1977, directed by Grigori Kokhan and based on the novel "Povest ob ugolovnom rozyske" ("A Tale of Criminal Investigations Department") by Aleksey Nagorny and Geliy Ryabov. The series depicts the history of Soviet Ugolovny Rozysk (criminal police) from 1917 to 1970s, seen through the eyes of Nikolay Fomich Kondratyev (Evgeniy Zharikov).
The sixth film Exam (Ekzamen) is set in 1936. Nikolay Kondratyev investigates a murder. The suspect confesses but Kondratyev guesses that the confession is false, and another person is the real murderer.
