The Unknown Soldier (Tuntematon sotilas) is a 1955 Finnish war drama movie directed by Edvin Laine based on the novel of the same name by Väinö Linna. The movie tells the story about a Finnish machine gun company which is full of young recruits during the Continuation War during 1941-1944. This is the first filming of the novel which were remaked in 1985 and in 2017.
