My Best Enemy (Spanish: Mi mejor enemigo) is a Chilean-Argentine-Spanish film released in June 2005. Directed by Alex Bowen, the film stars Nicolás Saavedra, Erto Pantoja and Felipe Braun. Bowen won the Silver Pudú for Best Chilean Film at the 2005 Valdivia International Film Festival.
The story is based on the Beagle Conflict of December 1978 that pitted Chile and Argentina against one another. The film is mainly a critique of a conflict considered unnecessary between two neighboring countries and the subsequent abandonment of the soldiers after the end of the conflict.
The following weapons were used in the film My Best Enemy:
Handguns
Unknown Pistol
When Sergeant Ocampo (Miguel Dedovich) comes to talk with Rojas, he prepares to draw an unknown gun.
Rifles
SIG SG 510
The SIG SG 510 is the primary weapon of the Chilean infantry in the film, used by all the characters.
SIG SG 540
The Argentine soldiers are armed with SIG SG 540 rifles, probably standing in for FALs. These are probably Chilean copies manufactured by FAMAE.
Machine Guns
Browning M2HB
A Browning M2HB is used by a tanker aboard an M41 Walker Bulldog.
Others
M41
A pair of M41 Walker Bulldog light tanks are seen before the protagonist's patrol comes out.
Unknown Anti-Aircraft Gun
When it seems that war has broken out, an unknown anti-aircraft gun is seen being prepared.
