The Punisher (1989)
The Punisher was the 1989 action film that was the first movie adaptation of the Marvel comic book character. The B-movie starred Dolph Lundgren as the vigilante Frank Castle. The Punisher character would subsequently be "rebooted" two more times: 2004's The Punisher starring Thomas Jane and 2008's Punisher: War Zone starring Ray Stevenson.
The following weapons were used in the 1989 film The Punisher:
Handguns

Browning Hi-Power
Tokagypt 58
Acetylene "non" gun
- Common in movies where they could not use real guns (like in places with noise restrictions, around small children, or close to an actor's head). Also, New York City has draconian anti gun laws, thus these FAKE guns which fire a 'poof' of acetylene flash and smoke are used instead of real blank firing guns in many instances. (Most noticeably in the movie the Siege when used by Denzel Washington). These fake guns look a little similar to major models of handguns (Beretta 92, Glock, M1911) but something about them always looks a little 'off'.
NOTE: The 1989 film version of The Punisher was filmed entirely in Sydney, Australia and not in New York City.
Submachine Guns
Uzi
A Yakuza on the boat is seen with a full sized Uzi.
Micro Uzi
The Micro Uzi is seen in the hands of several Yakuza. Castle also uses one while sliding down a rope.
M1928 Thompson
An M1928 Thompson is carried by Castle when he is breaking all the kids out of the jail; however, he loses it and never fires it.
Shotguns
Franchi SPAS-12
Frank uses a Franchi SPAS-12 at the amusement park.
Franchi PA8
Mossberg 500 A Mariner
Frank Castle fires what appears to be a Mossberg 500A Mariner shotgun at the docks. It appears the shotgun fires 18 rounds despite the 7 shot tube.
High Standard FLITE KING K-1200
High Standard Flite King Shotgun Series
Sawn-off double barrel Shotgun
- Used by Castle during the raid on the Yakuza stronghold.
Machine Guns
M60 machine gun
During his assault on the casino, Frank Castle uses a full-size M60 machine gun.
