Model 1914 Ball Grenade
The Model 1914 Ball Grenade is a French grenade. It is an improvement of the earlier 1847 ball grenade. The weapon was developed in 1914 during WW1 but manufacturing was delayed under the belief the war would be over quickly; so the grenade was first issued in 1915. The grenade was attached to a strap in the soldier's wrist with a strap; the jerk as the grenade extends the strap and flies free by means of swivel-hook pulls the friction igniter and lights the fuse
