The Lost Patrol is the World War I film directed by John Ford. Starring Victor McLaglen and Boris Karloff. Small British patrol lost in a Mesopotamian desert. Unseen Arab snipers kill British soldiers, one by one. Sun, sand, heat... and only a small oasis gives hope for salvation. The film is a remake of a 1929 British silent film. It is thought that the film was the basis for the 1936 Soviet film The Thirteen (Trinadtsat). Which also was remade as Sahara by Zoltan Korda in 1943.
