About
Polish defense manufacturing company Zaklady Mechaniczne Tarnów (Tarnów Mechanical Works) was founded as a train repair workshop. The factory was rebuilded after WW2 and in 1951 it started manufacturing of firearms. The factory produced license-built automatic cannons (37mm Nudelman N-37, 57mm S-60, 23mm ZU-23, 25mm 2M-3M) and heavy machine guns (DShK, NSV and KPV). After 1989 the factory switched entirely to Polish designed weapons.
