The A-Team is an American action television series that aired on NBC from 1983-1988. The show followed the adventures of a US Special Forces team who were convicted of a military crime they didn't commit. After escaping from a maximum security prison, they survive as soldiers of fortune in the Los Angeles underground. The show was known for its numerous gunfights where nearly no one was shot, and for its car chases where everyone is able to get out of their vehicles even after they experienced spectacular crashes. A theatrical adaptation of the show starring Liam Neeson was released in 2010.

The following weapons were used in the television series The A-Team:

The A-Team (1983-1988)

Handguns

Beretta 92

Only seen during the Season 5 episode "The Theory Of Revolution", when the A-Team show General Stockwell just how many weapons they managed to smuggle into the farmhouse without his security detail noticing.

Beretta 92 - 9x19mm.
A Beretta 92 can be seen lying on the table in the Virginia farmhouse. Note the pearl grips. Since filming for Season 5 began in 1986 it can be assumed that this is one of the original 92 models.

Browning Hi-Power

The Browning Hi-Power is one of the handguns frequently used by Col. John "Hannibal" Smith, most notably in Season 1's "Black Day at Bad Rock".

Browning Hi-Power Type 73 - 9x19mm.
The doctor relieves Hannibal of his Browning Hi-Power Type 73 in the Season 1 episode "Black Day At Bad Rock".

Colt Detective Special

Primarily used by Hannibal (George Peppard) during Season 2.

Colt Detective Special 3rd Gen - .38 Special

MAC-10

The MAC-10 appears notably when Hannibal discovers it in a weapons cache inside a limo - complete with what appears to be a Psionics suppressor.

IngramMAC10.jpg
In the Episode "When You Comin´ Back, Range Rider?", a MAC-10 is used by Col. Roderick Decker (Lance LeGault) for target practice. It should be noted that Lance LeGault barely ever flinches when firing a weapon in the series.
Hannibal discovers a suppressed MAC-10 under a seat in the main villains limousine. He correctly refers to it as a "Ingram".

Micro Uzi

Micro Uzi - 9mm.

(Mock-up) Uzi

A MAC-10 mocked up to look like an Uzi with fake Uzi furniture mounted on the barrel and receiver can be seen being used by Murdock (Dwight Schultz). Similar Uzi mock-ups can be seen in Raw Deal, The Dogs of War, and also Stripes. If memory serves the "front sight" of the Uzi was actually upside down!!!

IMI Uzi 9x19mm
Murdock (Dwight Schultz) blasting away at a group of bad guys. Note that he is wearing the ear muffs so the bullet hits on the (apparently bulletproof) barrel he is hiding in wont blow his eardrums when he is taking cover.
Another mocked up MAC-10.

Rifles

Ruger Mini 14 Stainless version with Folding stock

When the show began its full run in 1984, the producers decided not to have the team use different weapons every week, primarily due to budget concerns. (Let's face it, it was a cheap show). Beginning with its second season, the A-Team favored the Ruger Mini-14 with a factory folding stock in Stainless steel. Contrary to popular belief, these were not the fully automatic Ruger AC556 rifles, but the Semi auto only Ruger Mini 14 with folding stocks. Close examination of the show reveals that the actors are pulling the triggers quickly and only a few spent brass casing as flying out, despite the sound effects of full auto fire. Also the cuts in editing, showing bullet squibs and 'dust hits' against the ground and buildings, created the illusion of full auto firing Ruger rifles. Since Americans had not yet been exposed to 'assault weapon bans' being that this was the mid 1980s, the title 1 classified Ruger rifles were easy to transport across state and local lines with no paperwork hassles. The rifles were actually purchased for the show and were kept on permanent storage in the show's props containers during the show's run.

Stainless Steel Ruger Mini-14 GB-F ("Government Barrel, Folding Stock") - 5.56x45mm

"Howling Mad" Murdock (Dwight Schultz) holds a Ruger Mini-14 as he and B.A. Baracus (Mr. T) holds his Star BM as they burst into a backyard in Season 2's "The Taxicab Wars".

Armalite AR-18

Armalite AR-18 - 5.56mm
The main villain (far left) in "The Only Church In Town" seen here armed with an Armalite AR-18. This weapon, along with the older Armalite AR-10, were often used as stand-ins for the more expensive M16.

AKM

AKM´s can be seen during the Season 4 finale "The Sound Of Thunder", used by North Vietnamese ground troops and throughout Season 5.

AKM - 7.62x39mm.
A North Vietnamese soldier brandishing an AKM. Note the bulge on the forearm, a feature unique to this version of the Kalashnikov.
Why the NFL never thought of this.

Daewoo K2

The Daewoo K2 is used in numerous episodes, notably by Murdock in Season 4's "Wheel of Fortune".

M16A1

Used by U.S. Military Police pursing the A-Team, by A-Team members themselves, and various bad guys.

Err, I almost forgot...some could have been earlier-model M16s or AR15 Sporters, but I don't remember anymore.
M16A1 - 5.56x45mm.

M16/SP1 with fake M203 Grenade Launcher

During the Season 4 finale "The Sound Of Thunder" Hannibal(George Peppard) can be seen pulling a M16/SP1 with a mock-up M203 from Murdocks(Dwight Schultz) bag.

M16/SP1 - 5.56x45mm.
Both the length of the tube and the shape and size of the trigger and accompanying trigger guard are off. Hannibal is also never seen actually loading the weapon, yet another indication that this is a non-firing prop.

Norinco Type 56-2

Sheriff Hank Thompson (Ed Lauter) carrying a Ithaca 37 shotgun in the Season 1 episode "Black Day at Bad Rock"
Deputy Jack Harmson (Ted Gehring) picks up a Ithaca 37 shotgun from off-screen. It should be noted that this isn't the same shotgun as the one used by Sheriff Hank Thompson in the final scene, since they have different stocks.

Earlier in the same episode a weapon rack can be seen in the sheriffs office with multiple other shotguns. The bartender in "The Out-Of-Towners" uses a Ithaca 37 with sawed-off stock and barrel. Another Ithaca is used by a thug in "The Only Church In Town", this one with sawed-off stock.

Sniper Rifles

Arisaka Type 99 sporterized

Used only when the script calls for a trained assassin is a Arisaka Type 99 rifle. Specifically, the Type 2 takedown paratrooper variant.

A Arisaka Type 99 rifle leaning against a couch. It can be identified as the Type 2 takedown paratrooper by the sling swivel and the receiver. Sporterized versions of the Type 99 are often used when a weapon that can be easily assembled is called for.
The disassembled Arisaka. In the series is it usually only separated into two parts, not counting the scope. This makes assembly fast and unproblematic.

This weapon was also prominently featured in Dirty Harry.

Winchester Model 70

The Winchester Model 70 is used in various episodes, notably in Season 2's "Diamonds ´N Dust".

M60

The M60 was the regular squad support weapon in the series, always used by Hannibal Smith (George Peppard) and rarely by B.A. Baracus (Mr. T) even though he would of been the obvious choice but more often was relegated to using a chrome Smith & Wesson 639 automatic pistol.

In the Season 2 episode "The Battle for Bel-Air", Hannibal fires the M60 mounted on a Hughes 500 helicopter.
In the Season 3 episode "The Bend in the River", B.A. Baracus (Mr. T) bursts into a bar with the M60. This is probably the only time we see B.A. fire the weapon.

M60 Rubber props

In the episode "Cowboy George" the viewer watches as two M60 are caught in just as many explosions. It should be pointed out that these aren't actual firing props.

The fact that this is a rubber prop is most evident when checking for the magazine. There is none.
Another M60 rubber prop meets its untimely demise in an explosion.

Browning Automatic Rifle

Malavida Valdez (Sergio Calderón) is using a Browning Automatic Rifle throughout the Season 1 pilot episode "Mexican Slayride".
