I 2 Soliti Idioti (literally "The 2 Usual Idiots") is a 2012 Italian comedy film. The film deals with Ruggero De Ceglie (Fabrizio Biggio), a corrupt Guardia di Finanza (a police force dealing with financial crimes and tax evasion) officer that drags his honest son Gianluca De Ceglie (Francesco Mandelli) into his shady business, with the movie beginning with the two being chased by the dangerous Russian mobsters Serghey and Ivanov (played by the same two actors), due to Ruggero stealing a car and money from them. The film is a sequel to I Soliti Idioti, while a sequel called I Soliti Idioti 3: Il ritorno was released in 2024.
The following weapons were used in the film I 2 Soliti Idioti (The 2 Usual Idiots):
WARNING! THIS PAGE CONTAINS SPOILERS!
Pistols
Beretta 92FS
The Beretta 92FS is used by multiple characters throughout the film, such as Gianluca (Francesco Mandelli) in the prologue shootout, it is then taken by his father Ruggero (Fabrizio Biggio) after Gianluca carelessly points it in his direction, juggling with it (while driving!) and tossing it on the road, causing a negligent discharge and a road accident, albeit another one is later seen for a few second in the car's glove box. It is also the standard issue sidearm of the policemen in the in-universe TV series Poliziotti Scorreggioni 5 (Farting Policemen 5), where is fitted with a security lanyard that is commonly used by Italian law enforcement, security and military personnel. It's also used by real policemen in the climax.
Submachine guns
IMI Uzi
The IMI Uzi is seen being used by Serghey and Ivanov during both the prologue and the climax.
Assault Rifles
AKS-47
The AKS-47 is used by Serghey during an assault at Gianluca's marriage.
AKMS
The AKMS is used by Ivanov.
Others
G3 SAS "High Cycle"
Both Serghey and Ivanov are seen holding "G3 SAS High Cycle"; an airsoft replica based the Heckler & Koch G3, in various scenes.
Cannon
Some cannons are mounted on a car of the "Pirati della Strada". Pirati della strada can be translated as "Joyriders" albeit the schetch jokes upon the fact that pirati also means pirates, thus making it a visual pun, beside obviously parodying the then recent movie Pirates of the Caribbean.
