Tom Donophon (John Wayne) uses a Single Action Army with a Quickdraw (4 3/4") barrel. Liberty Valance (Lee Marvin) and his fellow outlaws also use the Single Action Army with the 4 3/4" barrel.
Ransom "Rance" Stoddard (Jimmy Stewart) is given, what appears to be, a Colt 1862 revolver with a Richards-Mason conversion by Tom Doniphon (John Wayne) so that he might be able to protect himself against Liberty Valance (Lee Marvin) and his men.
