Blackthorn is a 2011 Western directed by Mateo Gil. Set in Bolivia in 1927 (20 years after the famous shootout depicted in the 1968 film), the story focuses on an older Butch Cassidy (Sam Shepard) who's now living a quiet life as James Blackthorn.
The following weapons were used in the film Blackthorn:
WARNING! THIS PAGE CONTAINS SPOILERS!
Pistols
Colt Single Action Army
Colt Single Action Army "Cavalry"
James Blackthorn (Sam Shepard) carries a Colt Single Action Army "Cavalry" model as his preferred sidearm. Young Butch Cassidy (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) also uses a "Cavalry" model in a flashback scene set in 1908. Various Bolivians also carry Colt Single Actions throughout the film.
Colt Single Action Army "Artillery"
Most of the Bolivian posse members carry Colt Single Action Army "Artillery" models throughout the film.
Webley .38 Mk IV
Eduardo Apodaca (Eduardo Noriega) carries a Webley .38 Mk IV revolver as his preffered sidearm throughout the film. James Blackthorn (Sam Shepard) also handles the revolver in the film.
Bodeo M1889
A Bolivian shopkeeper carries a Bodeo M1889 revolver in a hip holster. Eduardo Apodaca (Eduardo Noriega) steals the revolver and uses it for much of the film, until Blackthorn gives his Webley .38 Mk IV back.
Colt 1878 Double Action
A Bolivian boy is seen with a Colt 1878 Double Action revolver.
Colt Lightning Shopkeeper
Etta Place (Dominique McElligott) can be seen with a Colt Lightning revolver.
Rifles
Winchester Model 1892
Many characters throughout the film carry the Winchester Model 1892.
Winchester Model 1866
In a flashback to 1900, Etta Place is seen armed with a Winchester Model 1866.
Remington Rolling Block Short Rifle
Argentinian soldiers are seen armed with Remington Rolling Block Short Rifles.
vz. 24
Bolivian soldiers are seen armed with vz. 24 rifles. Anachronistic as they were issued in 1932 and the film is set in 1927.
Shotguns
Double-Barreled Shotgun
Yana (Magaly Solier) (Cassidy's lover) is seen armed with a double-barreled shotgun. Butch and Eduardo are also seen wielding the same shotgun.
