Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan is a 2006 mockumentary starring Sacha Baron Cohen as the titular character. It is the second of four films to be spun off from Baron Cohen's television series, Da Ali G Show, following Ali G Indahouse and followed by Brüno and Borat Subsequent Moviefilm. Baron Cohen would go on to win the 2007 Golden Globe Award for Best Actor: Musical or Comedy for his role as Borat Sagdiyev, and the film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay, but lost to The Departed.
Despite previous reports that Cohen had retired the Borat character, a sequel, Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, was released on Amazon Prime on October 23rd, 2020.
