The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada is a 2005 neo-Western drama that focuses on the mystery of the death of a young Mexican man near the US-Mexico border. The film was inspired by the real-life killing of American teenager Esequiel Hernández Jr. by US Marines in 1997. The film was directed by and stars Tommy Lee Jones.
