Single Action Army
Tom Doniphon (John Wayne) uses a Single Action Army with a Quickdraw (4 3/4") barrel. Liberty Valance (Lee Marvin) and his fellow outlaws also use the Single Action Army with the 4 3/4" barrel. The hero SAA carried by John Wayne is a black powder frame 1st Generation Colt made in 1888 chambered in .44 Russian. Ransom "Rance" Stoddard (Jimmy Stewart) is seen with a Colt 1862 revolver with a Richards-Mason conversion as he receives a shooting lesson from Tom Doniphon (John Wayne). Rance is seen with this revolver in his confrontation with Valance.
Winchester Model 1892
Pompey (Woody Strode) carries a Winchester Model 1892 as his weapon of choice. The rifle also is seen in the hands of Tom Doniphon (John Wayne).
