Jackboots on Whitehall is a 2010 animated action comedy film set in an alternate 1940 during the Second World War, when the failed evacutation of British forces from Dunkirk and heavy losses from the Battle of Britain force the demoralized Prime Minister Winston Churchill to retire. But as Nazi ground forces manage to drill through the English Channel and invade London, it is up to a small band of unlikely heroes led by a farmer named Chris (voiced by Ewan McGregor) to rescue him and form a resistance to thwart the invasion.
Like in Team America: World Police, the characters are played by marionettes and the weapons they use are plastic miniature props.
The following weapons were used in the animated film Jackboots on Whitehall:
Handguns
Colt M1911A1
Billy Fiske (voiced by Dominic West) carries an M1911-like pistol as his sidearm during the London battle.
Enfield No.2
Major Rupee carries an Enfield No.2 as his sidearm during the London battle.
Luger P08
Adolf Hitler carries a pearl-encrusted Luger pistol when visiting Buckingham Palace.
Webley
Bernard Montgomery uses two Webley-like revolvers during the escape from London.
Submachine Guns
M1A1 Thompson
Major Rupee uses an M1A1 Thompson submachine gun as his main weapon during the London battle. The variant is anachronistic since it was introduced in 1942; it would be more likely to see the M1928A1 variant as it was in British arsenals at the time.
M1928 Thompson
Winston Churchill uses an M1928 Thompson submachine gun as his main weapon during the London battle. This is a reference to a real-life photo of him carrying one.
MP40
Like in most WWII films, the MP40 submachine gun is the main weapon used by the Germans. A few are also captured and used by the resistance. Despite its ubiquity, it would be a relatively new weapon considering the year is 1940.
Sten Mk II
The F.A.N.Y (an actual organization, standing for First Aid Nursing Yeomanry) nurses can be briefly seen firing Sten Mk II submachine guns during the village attack. The guns are anachronistic as the Sten was first developed in 1941, and the Mk II was developed in 1942.
Shotguns
12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun
A few Home Guard volunteers are briefly seen firing old double-barreled shotguns during the village attack.
Winchester Model 1912 "Trench Gun"
Billy Fiske uses a Winchester Model 1912 "Trench Gun" shotgun as his main weapon during the London battle.
Rifles
Brown Bess Flintlock Musket
The British defenders at Hadrian's Wall rearm themselves with old Brown Bess Flintlock Musket.
Karabiner 98k
The Karabiner 98k appears as the main battle rifle of the Germans, but not in quantity until the assault on Hadrian's Wall.
Lee-Enfield No. 1 Mk III
The Lee-Enfield No. 1 Mk III appears as the main battle rifle of the British forces.
Machine Guns
Bren light machine gun
The Bren light machine gun is used by the Home Guard and Churchill's Punjabi elite guards.
Lewis light machine gun
The Lewis Gun is also used by the British forces.
MG 42
The MG42 is the main machine gun used by the German forces. It is anachronistic for the setting as it was developed in 1942 - the MG34 was still their main general-purpose machine gun until then.
Vickers Gun
The Vickers machine gun is the main mounted machine gun of the British forces.
Launchers
Panzerfaust
A Panzerfaust is used to breach the gates on Hadrian's Wall. The weapon is anachronistic as it was developed in 1943.
PIAT
A PIAT is used during the London battle. The weapon is anachronistic as it was developed in 1943.
Others
Webley & Scott No. 2 Mk. V
A Webley & Scott No. 2 Mk. V is fired to start the German assault on Hadrian's Wall.
Model 24 Stielhandgranate
A crate of Model 24 Stielhandgranate hand grenades can be seen, but they are otherwise unused throughout the film.
Dynamite
The Punjabi guards load the barricades on Downing Street with bundles of dynamite in order to blow up the German attackers.
Bunker Arsenal
Winston Churchill reveals a hidden cache of weapons in the Downing Street bunker.
Mounted Weapons
Anti-Aircraft Gun
Infantry Gun
MG 34
An MG 34 machine gun can be seen mounted on an Sd.Kfz.250 half-track APC.
8.8cm KwK 36
The Tiger I tank is armed with a powerful 8.8cm KwK 36 cannon.
Vickers Aircraft Machine Gun
The Sopwith Camel biplane that Billy Fiske managed to find and fly to Hadrian's Wall is fitted with two Vickers machine guns.
Vehicles
Panzer tanks
Several tanks are used by the German forces throughout the London invasion.
