XDefiant (formerly known as Tom Clancy's XDefiant) is a free-to-play first-person arena shooter video game developed by Ubisoft San Francisco and published by Ubisoft. XDefiant was released on PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on May 21, 2024. On PC, the game is available exclusively on Ubisoft Connect.
Set in the Ubisoft shared universe, gameplay revolves around factions called "Defiants", who act as different classes with different abilities. These factions at launch include Phantoms (from newer Ghost Recon games such as Ghost Recon: Breakpoint), Echelon (from Splinter Cell), Cleaners (from The Division), Libertad (from Far Cry 6) and DedSec (from Watch Dogs). In gameplay concepts borrowed from hero shooters, each faction has unique abilities/gadgets, along with a slow to charge but powerful "Ultra" ability.
The following weapons appear in the video game XDefiant:
Pistols
Beretta M9
A military-issue Beretta M9 (judging by the two-dot sights) with a tan Recover Tactical BC2 Grip (with a cracked off section of the grip) appears in XDefiant. 15 round mags are used by default and "Quick", "Lightweight" and "Fast" variants are also available, along with an extended 30 round option. Optics can be installed via what looks like a welded on MIL-STD 1913 rail section on top of the slide. The hammer is inaccuratly always decocked: while firing the hammer stays uncocked, then cocks itself right before the slide reciprocates, where it is uncocked after the slide returns to battery.
Beretta 93R
A Beretta 93R with wood grips appears as the "93R". It comes by default with a 20 round mag.
Colt M1911A1
A customized Colt M1911A1 with a Colt Gold Cup National Match slide and an extended beavertail appears in XDefiant as the "M1911".
FN Five-seveN USG
The FN Five-seveN USG with the original model's trigger guard appears as the Echelon faction's ultra ability: Sonar Goggles. It is outfitted with a suppressor and laser/light modal which appears to be a hybrid of the SureFire XVL2-IRC and the Viridian C5L-R. Singular shots from the Five-seveN are guaranteed one hit kills and the pistol is always used in conjunction with night vision goggles, regardless of the lighting conditions.
Magnum Research Desert Eagle Mark XIX
A stainless steel ported Magnum Research Desert Eagle Mark XIX with railed frame and barrel appears in XDefiant with the usual "D50" denomination used in Ubisoft games.
Smith & Wesson Model 686 Performance Center Competitor
A Smith & Wesson Model 686 Performance Center Competitor appears as the "686 Magnum" in XDefiant.
Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
A Heckler & Koch MP5A3 with a railed handguard and what appears to be a hybrid between the polymer SEF and Navy trigger group, is erroneusly called the "MP5A2". The MP5, just like most of the other guns in the game, is depicted as extremely battered and with its magazine, stock, and grip wrapped in tape. The trigger guard and charging knob are broken, a sling attachment point is fitted at the end of the receiver and the default collapsible stock is half extended (which is not exactly possible). 30 round steel and polymer magazines of the usual varieties are available, along with a 45 round one (in reality they would hold 38).
Heckler & Koch MP5A2
Fitting the aforementioned MP5A3 with the "Reinforced" stock attachment turns it into an actual MP5A2
Heckler & Koch MP7A2
A black Heckler & Koch MP7A2 appears as the "MP7" in XDefiant.
TDI Vector
A dual-tone Gen 1 TDI Vector appears as the "Vector .45 ACP". It has a prototype trigger and stock, and the lower housing also has a few parts from the prototype Vector, such as the area around the bolt catch/release lever. The gun has a 6.5" barrel and a KRISS MK5 modular handguard fitted to it, as seen on "Enhanced" versions of the Gen 2.1 Vector.
FN P90 Tactical
The FN P90 Tactical appears as simply the "P90" in XDefiant.
Shotguns
Remington 870
A Remington 870 with ghost ring sights, an extended magazine tube and a chem light taped onto its receiver appears as the "M870" in XDefiant.
Double Barreled Shotgun
A side-by-side 12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun appears as the "Double Barrel" in XDefiant.
AA-12
An AA-12 shotgun with most of its polymer shell missing appears in XDefiant, feeding by default from 8 round magazines.
Assault Rifles
AKM
An AKM rifle appears with the incorrect name of "AK-47" as is usual in Ubisoft properties. The rifle follows the overall theme of appearing severely damaged, missing its top cover. By default it is loaded with 30-round aluminum waffle magazines. The fire selector is incorrectly set to safe (this is visible in both the customization screen and in third person in-game).
Bushmaster ACR
A Bushmaster ACR chambered in 6.8 SPC appears as the "ACR 6.8" in XDefiant, a name also used in the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. It has a tan upper receiver and stock and black rail system, lower, and magazines.
Desert Tech MDR
The production version of the Desert Tech MDR in 5.56 appears as the "MDR" in XDefiant.
M4A1 Carbine
The M4A1 appears in XDefiant as the default starting rifle. It feeds by default from 30 round STANAG USGI magazines with a 45 round extended magazine option also available. The rifle is fitted with an anodized upper and lower reciever (with different finishes) seemingly inspired by the Geissele DDC Super Duty set or the Colt LE6920 FDE recievers. Both the upper and lower appear to be smeared as if the anodization was a painted finish. The rifle also has a tan 6-position stock, FDE A2 pistol grip and FDE KAC RAS handguard with a black KAC 11 Rib Rail Cover Panel on the left side. The default rear sight is a MBUS Pro polymer one. Mounting an optic removes the front sight post and replace it with a low-profile gas block. An option allows to remove the stock and mount a very short buffer tube at the end of the rifle, which would make cycling impossible. Also, installing the "Barrel Extender" muzzle attachment will turn the regular M4 profile 14.5 inch barrel into a 16 inch one, maintaining the same profile.
M16A4
An M16A4 appears in XDefiant, depicted in very poor shape and missing the trigger guard.
Machine Guns
M249 SAW
The M249 SAW appears in XDefiant as the default LMG.
RPK
The RPK appears in XDefiant with an incorrect "RPK-74" denomination, when it clearly is chambered in 7.62x39mm and not 5.45x39mm. Unlike the AKM, it is not missing its top cover.
M60
An M60 with a rail system appears in XDefiant.
Marksman Rifles and Sniper Rifles
FN MK 20 SSR
A FN SSR with a 10-round magazine appears in XDefiant as a "Marksman Rifle".
SVD
The SVD appears under its real name in XDefiant as a "Marksman Rifle".
Mosin Nagant Model 1944 Carbine
A Mosin Nagant Model 1944 Carbine appears as the "M44" in XDefiant. The rifle uses a Brass Stacker Scout Mount for all optics. Neither the iron sights nor the bayonet are usable.
McMillan TAC-50
A McMillan TAC-50 fitted with a Cadex Dual Strike Chassis appears as the "TAC-50" in XDefiant.
Grenades and Explosives
M67 Grenade
The M67 Hand Grenade appears as the default grenade.
