The Absent One, also known as Department Q: The Absent One, is a 2014 Danish-German-Swedish movie directed by Mikkel Nørgaard based on the Danish novel of the same name by Jussi Adler-Olsen. When two siblings are brutally murdered, the culprit seems to be found quickly: Boarding school student Bjarne Thøgersen confesses to the crime and is sent to prison for several years. But something seems fishy: Bjarne belongs to the spoiled clique around leader Ditlev Pram, Ulrik Dybbøl, and the pretty Kirsten-Marie, called "Kimmie" Lassen.
