Men of War (Russian: В тылу врага 2: Лис пустыни, or Behind Enemy Lines 2: Desert Fox) is a 2009 real-time strategy video game. Players issue orders to and/or take direct control of soldiers on a simulation-driven battlefield.
The game takes place during World War II (with the exception of the Vietnam expansion pack) and features battles set in Europe, the Soviet Union, Crete, and North Africa across three different campaigns for the Americans, Germans and Soviets. The Empire of Japan was later introduced as a multiplayer faction in a patch.
On November 1, 2009, a sequel called Men of War: Red Tide (Russian: "Черные бушлаты") was released, featuring missions centered on the Soviet Naval Infantry of the Black Sea Fleet, in addition to adding the arsenals of two more countries, Italy and Romania. This game notably featured no multiplayer or editor.
On February 25, 2011, a stand-alone expansion pack called Men of War: Assault Squad was released, featuring more small arms and high quality weapon models. The expansion pack focused on the multiplayer and infantry combat aspects of the game more.
On September 9, 2011, another stand-alone expansion called Men of War: Vietnam was released, featuring 2 campaigns focused on the Vietnam War (of the Vietcong and their Russian Advisors, and American Forces respectively) and featuring Vietnam War-era weapons.
On April 12, 2012, a sequel called Men of War: Condemned Heroes was released, featuring several campaigns focusing on the infamous Soviet "Penal battalions" and high quality human models.
It is not to be confused with the Perry Lang's action film Men of War.

Rifles
All rifles in game use the same "Rifle Ammo".
M1 Garand
The M1 Garand is used by US soldiers in game. It's a semi-automatic rifle which means the rate of fire is higher than other bolt-action rifles, but it only holds 8 rounds of "Rifle ammo".
M1A1 Carbine
The M1A1 Carbine is used by US Soldiers. It holds 15 rounds, more than any other rifle-type weapon in Men of War.
M1903A1
The M1903A1 Springfield. Both the scoped and unscoped rifles sport a front sight protector similar to the one on the M1917 Enfield.

The "M1903A4" in game modeled with M1903A1 Rifle, but is attached with the M1903A4 Springfield Sniper Rifle 's M84 scope.

Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk.I
Called "EM-3" in game, the No.4 Mk.I is used by British Rifleman. It holds 10 Rounds of "Rifle Ammo" and the rate of fire is the same as other bolt action rifles.
Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk.I(T)
Called "EM-2" in game. Holds 8 Rounds of "Rifle Ammo".
De Lisle Carbine
The De Lisle Carbine is used by the Allied Elite unit in multiplayer mode. It holds 7 rounds of "Rifle Ammo".
Arisaka Type 99
The Arisaka Type 99 is used by Imperial Japanese soldiers.
Arisaka Type 99 Sniper Rifle
The Arisaka Type 99 sniper rifle is used by Imperial Japanese snipers.
STG-44
In Men of War, the STG-44 is classified as a SMG and called "MP-44", a popular misnomer. It holds 30 Rounds of "Pistol Ammo" and the range of the STG-44 is longer than other SMGs.
FG-42
The FG 42 is used by the Fallschirmjäger (German Paratroopers, hence the "FG" 42) in multiplayer mode. Like the STG-44, the FG-42 in game is also classified as a SMG. It holds 20 rounds of "Pistol Ammo".
Browning Automatic Rifle
The Browning Automatic Rifle, called "B.A.R." in game, is used by US soldiers. It is classified as a Machine Gun.
Boys
The Boys Anti-Tank Rifle is used by British forces. All Anti-Tank Rifles in game use the same "AT Rifle Ammo".
PTRS
Due to a bug, both the PTRD-41 and PTRS-41 use the same model ( which is a PTRS-41 ).
PzB-39
The PzB-39 is used by German soldiers.
Type 97 automatic cannon
Called the "Anti-Tank Rifle".
Machine Guns
Most of the Machine Guns in game use the "MG Ammo Belt", but large-caliber Machine Guns like the DShK or Browning M2 use another kind of "MG Ammo Belt".

The Browning M1919 is mounted on Allied vehicles.
Bren Gun
The Bren gun is used by British soldiers, and it holds 30-Round "MG Ammo Belt"s.
BESA
The BESA tank machine gun is mounted on British Armored Vehicles and tanks.
Vickers
The Vickers is used by British forces.
DShK
The DShK heavy machine gun is mounted on Soviet Tanks.
Maxim M1910
The Maxim M1910 is used by the Soviet Red Army.
Degtyaryov DS-39
The Soviet Degtyaryov DS-39 mount on various platforms, and it's anachronistic service to long.
Degtyaryov DP-27
The DP-27 is used by Soviet soldiers.
DT-29
The DT-29 is mounted on Soviet Tanks and APCs, but it is also available for infantry.
MG-42
The MG42 is used by German soldiers. It is modeled with a 50 Round drum, but it holds 75-Round “MG Ammo Belt”s.
MG-34
The MG34 is used by the German dorces, usually mount on vehicles.
Type 99
The Type 99 Light Machine Gun is used by the Japanese Machine Gunner.
Type 1 Heavy Machine Gun
The Type 1 Heavy Machine Gun is used by the Japanese forces, and is incorrectly mounted on Japanese vehicles.
Submachine Guns
All SMGs in game use "Pistol Ammo" (which, essentially, is correct because most SMG's have pistol-caliber rounds).
Sten MK.V
The Sten Mk V, used by British soldiers, is incorrectly called "Sten Mk.1" in game.
MP-40
Used by German soldiers, this is most common weapon in single player campaign. In real-life, the K98k was much more prevalent than the MP40.
PPsh-41
Used by Soviet soldiers. It is fed with 71-round drum magazines instead of stick magazines.
PPs-43
M1A1 Thompson
The Thompson Submachine Gun is used by American soldiers and some British soldiers.
M3A1 '"Grease Gun"
The M3A1 "Grease Gun" is used by US soldiers and incorrectly holds 32 rounds.
Haenel-Schmeisser MP28/II
Used by Japanese soldiers and incorrectly called the "Type 100 SMG". It is only available in multiplayer or in the editor.

The M9 "Bazooka" is used by US Forces, and ( incorrectly) Soviet AT Soldiers use it in multiplayer mode.

The PPD-40 , called "PPD" in game, is used by Soviet Paratroopers during the first campaign. It shares the same stats of the PPsh-41.

Beretta Model 38A
The Beretta Model 38A , called "Bereta M938A" in game, is used by Italian soldiers.

Simonov AVS-36 Rifles are used by Soviet Paratroopers during the first campaign and holds 15 rounds of "Rifle Ammo". It loses ammo rapidly due to its high rate of fire.

Rifles
Like the original Men of War, all assault rifles (AK-47\M-16) are classified as SMGs, loading "Pistol Ammo". However, battle rifles like the M-14 still use "Rifle Ammo".
SKS
The SKS is used by NVA Riflemen. The model of the SKS in game has no bayonet attachment.
AK-47
The AK47 is used by NVA soldiers, and it is also used by SOG member Bill Kirby in the US Campaign.
M14 Rifle
M14s are used by US Riflemen and ARVN Rangers and incorrectly holds 20 rounds of "Rifle Ammo".
M16
M16 rifles, used by US soldiers and ARVN Rangers, have -2 ammo per magazine (for example a M16 with 20-Round magazine only holds 18-rounds).
XM177E1
XM177E1s are used by Carl Dillan and some US Special Forces operators.
SVD Dragunov
The SVD Dragunov is used by NVA snipers in US Campaign, but it is only available for Soviet Military Adviser Mikhail Morozov during the Vietnamese Campaign.
