Assault Girls is a 2009 Japanese film directed by Mamoru Oshii. A spin-off of Avalon, the film centers around four players who are chosen to beta test a new version of the virtual reality game.
The following weapons were used in the film Assault Girls:
Gray (Meisa Kuroki) carries a Walther PPK in a back holster. While of dubious value in an environment where high-caliber sniper rifles and grenade launchers are necessary, it makes sense as a close-in back up to her single-shot rifle.

The PPK is seen in Grey's holster as she engages a sand worm with her sniper rifle.
Grey unloads her pistol and hand the magazine to Jäger as a show of good faith before going into Camp Mode for discussions.
This being a video game, she immediately pulls another magazine from thin air and reloads.
Grey shoots Jäger in the head, forcing him to respawn again
Custom FN FAL
Colonel (Hinako Saeki) carries a heavily customized FN FAL Paratrooper. It is fitted with a dot sight, the handguard of an M60 machine gun, and an M203 grenade launcher. In-game, it seems that the weapon has infinite ammunition, as she never reloads.

She prepares to engage a sand worm with her rifle.
Colonel opens fire again, this time using her dot sight. The FAL's rate of fire noticeably increases during this scene, so either Colonel upgraded her weapon with a variable rate of fire or the effect of a higher fire rate was created in sound editing.
A good view of the receiver as the Game Master informs her that she is out of M203 rounds.
M203 grenade launcher
Colonel's FN FAL is fitted with an M203 grenade launcher. Unlike the FAL it is fitted to, it must be reloaded after each shot and has limited ammunition, forcing the user to retreat and buy more ammunition.

Colonel reloads her M203. Benefiting a video game, the rounds appear from thin air. The prop round is rather low-quality, the head visibly loose from the base as she loads.

Iver Johnson AMAC-1500
Gray (Meisa Kuroki) carries an Iver Johnson AMAC-1500 when not flying her jet. As it is a single-shot weapon that forces the user to completely remove to bolt to reload, it is probably the cheapest and lowest-tier .50 BMG rifle in the game.

She prepares to load a round, showing how slow the weapon is to reload and giving a nice view of the breach.
Grey fires, the muzzle blast kicking up a spray of dirt in front of the gun.

A slightly blurry shot as she fires from the cockpit of her jet.
Custom Anti-Material Rifle
Jäger carries a massive anti-material rifle in the game. While not based off any real-world weapon, it still merits inclusion on the page.. In-game, it is mentioned that he poured all of his points into the weapon, resulting in a high-caliber weapon with an advanced sight that links via cable to a monocle. The muzzle brake is efficient enough to allow accurate and rapid firing even from the hip, though the muzzle flash is best described as apocalyptic. However, due to his massive overspecialization, he is forced to walk everywhere while carrying the massive rifle, lacking a mount like other players.
The weapon slung over Jäger's shoulders a he patrols the level, hoping to encounter the game boss.
He assemble the weapon, attaching the scope to the side of the rifle.
Jäger aims his anti-material rifle from a hill, awaiting his prey and giving feel for just how long the weapon is.
After a monster appears a point-blank range, Jäger fires his weapon from the hip. The muzzle break resembles that found on American M48/M60 Patton tanks.
Grey finds one of the rifles huge shell casings. For comparative purposes, note that the rounds across her chest are .50 BMG rounds.
Phalanx Close-In Weapon System with M197 Vulcan
For the final battle, Colonel buys a mecha fitted with an autocannon from the game store. It resembles the Phalanx Close-In Weapon System, though it has a three-barreled cannon mounted that is reminiscent of the M197 Vulcan. It is also a CGI effect since no real weapons system was used.

The autocannon opens fire. Despite the blazing rate of fire and apparent radar dome, it is incapable of engaging enemy missiles.
