Tour of Duty

Tour of Duty was an American military series that following a group of soldiers through their first tour of duty during the Vietnam War. It ran on CBS from 1987-1990 and was one of very first television series to portray the Vietnam War in a weekly drama.

M1911A1

The M1911A1 is seen used by Lt. Myron Goldman (Stephen Caffrey) and Lt. John McKay (Dan Gauthier).

M16A1

The M16 rifle was the main rifle of the U.S. Army soldiers in Vietnam. Seen carried by most of the platoon in the series.

Colt XM177

The XM177 rifle is mainly seen being used by SFC Clayton "Zeke" Anderson (Terence Knox).

The original XM177E1 - 5.56x45mm. The variant used in the show was a mockup made from a Colt Sporter Carbine with the barrel cut down to 10.25" and an aftermarket "CAR-15 style" flash hider installed.

The M14 Rifle was seen twice, used by Sgt. Block (Michael Madsen) and Lt. John McKay (Dan Gauthier) as sniper rifles.

The XM16E1 Rifle was seen mostly in the third season by the U.S. Army soldiers.

Norinco Type 56

The Norinco Type 56 is seen in the hands of the NVA and VC soldiers.

AKM

The AKM is also used by enemy forces as well as Lt. Goldman.

The SKS rifle is seen a couple of times by VC soldiers.

The Smith & Wesson M76 is seen used by Cpl. Danny Purcell (Tony Becker) and Pvt. Ruiz (Ramon Franco)in the SOG missions.
