Tour of Duty was an US television series that followed a platoon of US soldiers through their yearlong deployment (or "tour of duty") to Vietnam during the height of the American involvement in war. The series aired for three seasons on CBS from 1987 to1990 and was one of the very first to depict the Vietnam War in a weekly drama. While the first two seasons followed the men of Bravo Company as they served in a regular Army unit where they carried standard American weapons, the third season had them join the Special Operations Group, where they went on missions carrying more non-descript weaponry.
