The Letter (Paket) is a Soviet 1965 made for TV adventure movie directed by Vladimir Nazarov and based on the story by Leonid Panteleyev. During the Russian civil war a Red Army soldier Trofimiv (Valeriy Zolotukhin) receives a mission to deliver an urgent message to Reds headquarters. But he is captured by White troops and has to use all his courage and cunning to complete the mission.

Handguns

Nagant M1895

White Army Podporuchik (2nd Lt.) Gibel (Boris Novikov) carries a Nagant M1895 revolver. It isn't seen outside the holster.

Nagant M1895 Revolver - 7.62x38R Nagant. This example was dated 1939 manufacture and was a War time issued weapon. Note the angular front sight which was used from 1930s.

FN Model 1922

FN Model 1922 pistol is Petya Trofimov's (Valeriy Zolotukhin) personal handgun.

Mauser C96

Mauser C96 pistols are carries by Red commanders Zavarukhin (Gennady Sayfulin) and Belopolskiy (Anatoliy Kuznetsov). Both carry their pistols in signature wooden holsters.

While unconscious, Petya Trofimov has a vision of Zavarukhin with a Mauser in hand.

Both Reds and Whites use Mosin Nagant M1891/30 rifles, standing for original M91s.

Anachronistic Mosin Nagant M1938 Carbines are used by many Reds and Whites. All carbines have the front sight hoods removed.
