The following weapons were used in the film The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford:
Handguns
Remington 1875
Frank James (Sam Shepard) carries a nickel-plated Remington 1875 throughout the film. Frank James had carried Remington revolvers since the Civil War and was in fact carrying a Remington 1875 when he turned himself in September 1882.
Colt Single Action Army
Two .45 Colt Single Action Armys are used by Jesse James (Brad Pitt) with 5.5" and 7.5" barrel lengths, made by USFA. Charley Ford (Sam Rockwell) also carries a 4.75" barrel "Quick-Draw" model, which Bob uses during the Wood Hite shootout. Wood Hite (Jeremy Renner) carries an SAA during his shootout with Dick.
Colt Paterson
Bob Ford (Casey Affleck) carries an old "grandaddy Colt Paterson", which Jesse replaces with a S&W.
Dick Liddil (Paul Schneider) carries a Colt 1851 Navy, most notably seen during his shootout with Wood Hite and during his arrest. It looks like it might have a brass frame, so could be a Confederate copy of the Colt.
Smith & Wesson New Model No.3
Jesse gives Bob Ford (Casey Affleck) a nickel-finish , Smith & Wesson New Model No.3 which Bob later uses to infamously shoot him in the back.
Smith & Wesson Schofield
Sheriff Timberlake (Ted Levine) carries a blued Smith & Wesson Schofield while arresting Dick.
Rifles
Winchester Model 1873
Some of the gang members during the James Gang's train robbery use Winchester Model 1873 rifles.
Winchester Model 1866
One of the posse members out to arrest Dick Liddil carries a Winchester Model 1866 "Yellow Boy" rifle.
Shotguns
Double-barreled shotgun
Ed Miller (Garret Dillahunt) uses a 12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun during the opening train robbery. Some of the lawmen who arrest Dick Liddil also carry shotguns, as well as Edward O'Kelley (Michael Copeman) who in the films final scene is seen using one, but he is seen loading like a muzzleloading shotgun with a ram rod.
