:::I mean, there are lots of old guns that continue to be used despite their age. The Colt M1911, Browning M2 & M1919, and many bolt-action designs (Mauser 98, Lee-Enfield, Mosin-Nagant) have been in use for longer than 90 years and are still going strong. The Weyland Corporation isn't a national military force, so it's completely believable that they outfit their security units with older guns. Plus, we only see the AR-15 variants in a very brief and dark shot in the trailer, so it's possible they just used them as a background prop and not trying to imply they actually use them (in the same guise that the original Alien had tons of AR-15s and L85s in storage.) --Sergeant Simpleton (talk) 15:30, 26 December 2016 (EST)

Looking closer at it, the AUG looks like an actual Thales. Might want to wait until we get some better shots of it before we change the entry.--AnActualAK47 (talk) 15:41, 26 December 2016 (EST)

Trailer

The trailer's out, but they released it at 12 a.m. for me, so I'm not watching it until tomorrow. I'll update the page with any new weapons/info if no one else does by the time I get around to watching it.--Quarax (talk) 04:20, 25 December 2016 (EST) It's the year 2104 and they still use "antique" weapons like AR-15s and AUGs, i don't know, it may seem lazy to me but Aliens had pretty much WAY more convincing weaponry that looked both cool-looking and realistically possible to manufacture, that and the fact that they were based over real WWII firearms plus fired caseless ammunition.

Im not expecting phased plasma rifles, then again, maybe im giving it much thought but i'll be enjoying the movie despite shortcomings like this.--Death Shadow20 (talk) 17:22, 25 December 2016 (EST)

The AR-15 has worked well for the last 5 years why would it stop working well for the next 90 years?--AnActualAK47 (talk) 18:08, 25 December 2016 (EST)
Doesn't almost everything today get replaced eventually? We are humans that are programmed to evolve, though there's this saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it", while it is true i think ppl will have to move on and try new things. Look at what happened to (for example and in your honor) the AK-47, what happened with it? That it got replaced by the 74m within the russian military and subsequently; only third world insurgents make use of it because it's cheap, easy to use, easy to manufacture and reliable. And that's why Terrorists can't advance. But yeah, imo i think its better to make technological progress over the years than to get stuck in the past, using outdated guns and shit.--Death Shadow20 (talk) 18:55, 25 December 2016 (EST)
Is that AUG she's carrying around supposed to look like the Thales F90? Would be interesting to get some info on that.--AnActualAK47 (talk) 19:13, 25 December 2016 (EST)
I think that AUG is an actual Thales F90. Its got the trigger guard, rail system, and rectangular cutouts on the stock to match.--Aidoru (talk) 13:32, 26 December 2016 (EST)
