Strange Days is a 1995 science-fiction thriller set in the city of Los Angeles on the eve of the 21st century. The film stars Ralph Fiennes as Lenny Nero, a former cop who uncovers a possible murder conspiracy while illegally dealing in a device that gives users the ultimate sensory experience. The Smith & Wesson 659, is the gun carried by Engelman (William Fichtner). Mace (Angela Bassett) uses it to threaten Burton Steckler (Vincent D'Onofrio).

In a continuity error, Mace picks up a Smith & Wesson 59 with a rounded trigger guard after fighting with Steckler.

Smith & Wesson 5904

The Smith & Wesson 5904 is the on-duty sidearm carried by Officer Burton Steckler (Vincent D'Onofrio). His version wears the Novak LoMount fixed sights. A police officer also pulls a 5904 during the final standoff.

What appears to be an M1911A1 is seen in the hands of one of the thieves during the opening robbery. An M1911A1 is used to threaten Lenny in a hotel room. An M1911A1 also can be seen in the hands of a police officer.
