M1 Garand
The M1 Garand is used by most of the men in the 7th Infantry Division, including Pvt. Franklin (Woody Strode).

M1 Carbine
The M1 Carbine is used by the officers in the film, including Lt. Joe Clemons (Gregory Peck), and by his radiomen, S/Sgt. Coleman (Norman Fell) and Cpl. Payne (Cliff Ketchum). All of these men use the post-WW2 30-round "Banana" Magazines.
