Mission: Impossible (1988-1989)

Mission: Impossible is the television sequel to the classic 1960s television espionage series. Peter Graves returned as IMF Agent Jim Phelps as he led a new team of operatives, which included Grant Collier, the son of the original IMF member Barney Collier (Grant was portrayed by Phil Morris, the real life son of original series star Greg Morris). The series, which was filmed in Australia, was rushed into production and utilized scripts from the original series that were updated for this incarnation (a writer's strike prevent the commissioning of new scripts for its first season). The series aired for two seasons from 1988 to 1989 on ABC. The franchise would continue as a feature film series starring Tom Cruise, beginning with 1996's Mission: Impossible.
