What is identified by the mercenary Cooper ([[John Diehl]]) as an "Einhorn 20 millimeter" is in reality a bullpup variant of the [[Barrett M82#Barret M82A2|Barrett M82]] .50 caliber sniper rifle known as the Barrett M82A2. When first testing it at an aircraft boneyard, Nash says that the "Einhorn 20mm" fires 20mm high explosive incendiary rounds, is gas-operated and uses a rotating bolt. The rifle is fitted with an AN/PAS-13 Thermal Weapon Sight (TWS) and a Harris bipod. The rifle can be heard being fired off-screen several times during the first encounter with the Spinosaurus, but none of the rounds seem to hit their mark as the dinosaur appears unharmed.

It's a shame he lost it, it would have helped him out greatly later in the film.

Jurassic Park III (2001)

The following weapons were used in the film Jurassic Park III:

SPOILERS.jpg WARNING! THIS PAGE CONTAINS SPOILERS!

Rifles

"Einhorn 20mm" (Barrett M82A2)

What is identified by the mercenary Cooper (John Diehl) as an "Einhorn 20 millimeter" is in reality a Barrett M82A2 .50 caliber sniper rifle, the bullpup variant of the Barrett M82 series. When first testing it at an aircraft boneyard, Nash says that the "Einhorn 20mm" fires 20mm high-explosive incendiary rounds, is gas-operated and uses a rotating bolt. The rifle is fitted with an AN/PAS-13 Thermal Weapon Sight (TWS), Harris bipod and multi-ported muzzle brake. The rifle can be heard being fired off-screen several times during the first encounter with the Spinosaurus, but none of the rounds seem to hit their mark as the dinosaur appears unharmed.

Cooper (John Diehl) racks the bolt on the "Einhorn 20mm" (in reality, the Barrett M82A2).
Cooper fires the M82A2. While dirt is seen displacing when fired, it appears that the muzzle flash (as well as the displaced dirt) is a CGI enhancement, given that the bolt does not cycle.
Cooper readies the M82A2 when they first land on Isla Sorna.

Heckler & Koch SL8-1

The pilot and second mercenary M.B. Nash (Bruce A. Young) is seen armed with an Heckler & Koch SL8-1 rifle fitted with a single stack 10 round magazine and an M68 Aimpoint red dot scope.

Nash (Bruce A. Young) loads up his Heckler & Koch SL8-1 to set up the perimeter.
Nash runs back to the plane with his SL8-1 in hand.

Steyr AUG

Co-pilot and mercenary Udesky (Michael Jeter) is seen armed with a Steyr AUG A1 assault rifle fitted with a 42-round magazine. It is rendered useless from the plane crash.

Steyr AUG - 5.56x45mm
Udesky runs for the plane with his AUG in hand.

M16A2

The Marines who land on the beach of Isla Sorna are armed with M16A2 Rifles. Many of them appear to have A1-style (teardrop) forward assist buttons (but in the late 1980s and 1990s these were common field repair items on A2s). Most are likely rubber props. Some of the extras exhibit proper gun safety training by keeping their fingers off the triggers, while others do not.

Handguns

Shotguns

Orion Flare Gun

Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) finds an Orion flare gun and uses it to ignite the boat fuel around the Spinosaurus in the water, ending its attack on the group. It should be noted that in real life, submersion under water would render the flare too damp to fire. The weapon also has a black finish instead of the typical safety orange coloration.
