In addition, his five decade long acting career includes roles in such diverse films as ''[[The Return of the Pink Panther]]'', ''[[Hanover Street]]'', ''[[Dragnet (1987)]]'', and ''[[The Insider]]''. He also is one of the few performers to have received the "Triple Crown of Acting". For his role in the 2010 film ''Beginners'', Plummer received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, making him the second oldest person (at 82) ever to receive such an award in an acting category.
