All the Money in the World is a 2017 drama directed by Ridley Scott and based on the novel "Painfully Rich: The Outrageous Fortunes and Misfortunes of the Heirs of J. Paul Getty" by John Peason. The film centers on the events surrounding the kidnapping of the grandson of oil tycoon John Paul Getty in 1973. The cast includes Michelle Williams, Timothy Hutton, Mark Wahlberg and Christopher Plummer as Getty (a role Plummer took over from Kevin Spacey and would subsequently receive an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor).
