Delta Force: Urban Warfare

Release Date: 2002
Developer: Rebellion
Publisher: NovaLogic
Platforms: Playstation
Genre: First-Person Shooter, Stealth

Delta Force: Urban Warfare is a console spin-off in the Delta Force series developed by Rebellion.

Instead of large battles, the game is about solo infiltiration missions, with an in-depth stealth system, especially for the PS1. (The player can start leaving blood trails if hurt, allowing enemies to track the player and the player can drag bodies as well as throw their knife as an alternative attack.)

While the game gave the player more actions than even the PC titles, this came at a cost of an awkward control scheme. (For instance, pressing L2 leans left, double tapping it has the player do a short dodge-hop to the left and pressing it while holding Triangle changes fire mode, which the D-PAD can also be used for, even the relatively basic action of reloading, requires holding Triangle and then pressing R1 which is also the interact function.)

This also means it's one of the few PS1 games that requires a dualshock controller and cannot be played with a controller that lacks analog sticks.

The game also is the only Delta Force game to allow the player to pick-up enemy weapons "fully" as Delta Force: Land Warrior would only let the player pick up enemy primary weapons. (As the player is unable to drop submachine guns or pistols in that title.)

The game is also more plot driven, following Delta Force Operator John, who after a mission goes bad in Colombia, is sent in solo infilitration missions to discover who is the mole tipping off Terrorist groups to Delta Force's Operations.

Several of the game's weapons would be recycled for Rainbow Six: Lone Wolf.

The following weapons appear in the video game Delta Force: Urban Warfare:

Pistols

Para Ordance P-14

The Para Ordance P-14 appears as the game's main handgun, with the same controls as changing the fire mode on other weapons, the suppressor can be freely attached and detached from the weapon.

A generic mine appears in-game as one of the explosives, it can either be placed on walls like the C4 or dropped at your feet when selected as a weapon quickly, the briefing of the first mission mentions claymores, so it's possible the mines were originally ment to be claymores. thumb|600px|none|Placing a Detonator next to the C4 so it can be remotely detonated.
