Thor: The Dark World is the 2013 sequel to 2011's Thor. The film was directed by Alan Taylor and Chris Hemsworth returns as Thor. The film also is part of "Phase Two" of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that includes Iron Man 3, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, and will culminate in the sequel The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
