Random french guy fascinated by all the technologies, doesn't matter if it works thanks to electronic or mechanic action. Guns are one of these fascinations, maybe due to some video game (like Day of Defeat or Medal of Honor: allied assault). I'm always curious about the spec of the guns, and be mad when a character obviously shot 100 rounds from a 30 rounds magazine, and be surprised by MGS 5 that include one more ammo if you reload before the magazine is empty (or red orchestra accuracy).
