Shōgun is a 1980 American historical drama television series based on the 1975 novel of the same name. A second adaptation of the book was released in 2024 produced by FX.

Tanegashima
The Tanegashima is used by Toranaga's forces after being acquired from the Portuguese. Its use in pre-Meiji Japan was recorded back from 1543 when Japan acquired arquebuses from Portuguese sailors.
