The Plane Flies to Russia (Russian: Самолёт летит в Россию, Samolyot letit v Rossiyu) is a 1994 Russian comedy film. A group of terrorists hijack an old Antonov An-12 cargo plane and they escape with hostages in tow. During the flight, one of the engines fails and, in order to lighten the plane, the terrorists throw all the extra cargo overboard- including their three hostages, planted into a container with a parachute, who land in an unnamed desert country.
By unfortunate coincidence, they are mistaken for members of one powerful criminal organization and are pursued by local police and rival gangs. Now they have to escape their latest predicament and find a way to return home.

TT-33
The Leader of Terrorists (Viktor Solovyov) carries a TT-33.
Walther P38
One of local mafia members (Sergei Silkin) carries a Walther P38. P38 pistols also carried by a police investigator (Valeriy Velichko), and by the main henchman of the mafia boss (Anatoliy Mambetov).
Mauser C96
Another mafiosi is seen with a Mauser C96.
Submachine Guns
PPSh-41 (mocked-up as K-50M)
One of the terrorists (Oleg Komarov) carries what to be appears a Vietnamese K-50M submachine gun. On closer examination, this is likely an original PPSh-41, modified to look like one.
MAC-10
One of mafia members uses a suppressed MAC-10 during a shootout with the police. Another mafia man can be seen holding a similar gun with an unfolded stock.
Király M43
What appears to be a Király M43 is carried by one of mafia men.
Haenel MP 28/II
A Haenel MP 28/II is carried by a sailor in one scene.
M1928A1 Thompson
The M1928A1 Thompson is carried by several mafia men.
A guard in the tower can be seen holding a M1928A1 Thompson with a very rare 100-round magazine. This magazine is likely a legacy of M1921 Thompson purchases made during the early Soviet era, which also included 100-round drums, or from Thompsons provided through Lend-Lease in World War II.
MP 41
A MP 41 is briefly visible in the hands of one of the liberated slaves.
Rifles
"Obrez"
A terrorist (Leonid Platonov) carries a Mosin Nagant "Obrez", cut-down to sub-carbine length.
Assault Rifles
AK-47
Another terrorist (Sergey Rykusov) uses an AK-47. Several mafia men also carry AK-47s later.
OTs-14-1A-01 Groza (Mocked-up as Steyr AUG A1)
What initially appear to be Steyr AUG A1 rifles are used by the police, and later by several mafia members. On closer examination, however, they differ from the actual AUG, which suggests that these are actually some kind of bullpup rifle using 7.62x39mm AK magazines, most likely the then-new OTs-14-1A Groza, dressed up to resemble Steyr AUG A1s.
M16A1
A sailor carries a M16A1. M16A1s are also later used by several mafia members and by "Director" (Sergey Losev).
M16A1 Rubber Prop
A rubber prop M16A1 is used in several scenes.
StG 44
The other rifles carried by "Director" is a StG 44 with scope and custom compensator.
Machine Guns
Made for Movie Hand Held Minigun
A fictional minigun is used, apparently built on a DP-27 receiver.
Grenades
M67 hand grenade
"Director" (Sergey Losev) carries a complement of M67 hand grenades during the firefight in the mafia mansion (for sure dummy props).
Model 24 Stielhandgranate
"Director", in addition to the M67 grenades, also carries a few Model 24 Stielhandgranates.
Smoke Grenade
Police use an unknown smoke grenade during the assault.
Other
BRDM-2
A BRDM-2 APC is used in the finale of the film. It is equipped with a cannon turret (probably a fake one, since the BRDM-2 did not have a factory artillery version).
