Mr. Bean was a British television program starring Rowan Atkinson as the title character. Fourteen half-hour episodes were aired between 1990 and 1995.

These rifles were first seen in the series used by training soldiers in "Back to school, Mr. Bean" (S1E11) episode. In the thirteenth episode "Goodnight, Mr. Bean", titular character (Rowan Atkinson) finds guard watchman (Rupert Vansittart, a frequent Atkinson collaborator who also appear alongside him in The Thin Blue Line, Four Weddings and a Funeral and Johnny English Reborn, as well as other episode of this very series in different role) in the park, armed with a L85A1 - the standard British Army rifle.

In the same ("Goodnight, Mr. Bean", S1E13) episode, Mr. Bean uses a Webley Scott Tempest air pistol (at one point in the scene you get a very brief but clear view of the gun in a drawer) to shoot the light bulb in his bedroom, because the switch is too far from his bed.
