James Darren (June 8, 1936 - September 2, 2024) was an American actor/singer/director who began his career as a teen idol, appearing in all three Gidget movies as the singing surfer Moondoggie. He is well known to television audiences for his roles in the series The Time Tunnel, T.J. Hooker, and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
