D'Artagnan and the Three Musketeers is a 2005 two-part French adventure miniseries directed by Pierre Aknine. Young D'Artagnan unexpectedly witnesses a failed execution. Years later, D'Artagnan travels to Paris to become a royal musketeer and thus meets Cardinal Richelieu and the mysterious Milady de Winter, the woman who once escaped death. The cunning Richelieu wants to use Milady's magical powers to eliminate the queen and devises a diabolical plan. Bound in loyal friendship with the musketeers Athos, Porthos, and Aramis, D'Artagnan takes up the fight against the dark forces.
