Beyond the Boundary (境界の彼方, Kyoukai no Kanata) is a 2013 anime series of the studio "Kyoto Animation Co., Ltd." directed by Taichi Ishidate. In a world where supernatural beings live among people, the young high school student Akihito Kanbara leads a life that is fairly normal for his circumstances. Because even if he looks like a human at first glance, he also belongs in the world of the supernatural. Akihito is half a Youmu, a being that gives him the ability to regenerate wounds so quickly that he is immortal. One day he sees that a young girl wants to jump off the roof of the school. But he successfully prevents them from doing so and ends up in a dangerous situation. Because Mirai Kuriyama belongs to the Bloodbenders, a very rare class of the spirit world, which is hated and persecuted by other supernatural beings. So by saving Mirai, Akihito gets into this fight and tries to protect her from then on.
