12 Strong

12 Strong is a 2018 Afghanistan War film that focuses on the men of Operational Detachment Alpha (ODA) 595, the first Special Forces team deployed to Afghanistan to fight the Taliban only a few months following 9/11. Chris Hemsworth stars as Captain Mitch Nelson, the commanding officer of the Green Beret unit, who must find a way to work with a Northern Alliance warlord to take down the enemy. The film marked the US feature film directorial debut of Danish director Nicolai Fuglsig and was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer (the producer of Black Hawk Down and the Pirates of the Caribbean series). The cast included Michael Shannon, Trevante Rhodes, Navid Negahban, William Fichtner, and Michael Peña.

Beretta 92FS
A Beretta 92FS pistol is used by U.S. Army Special Forces Captain Mitch Nelson (Chris Hemsworth).
Makarov PM
A Makarov PM pistol is the sidearm carried by Northern Alliance General Abdul Rashid Dostum (Navid Negahban).
Browning Hi-Power
A Browning Hi-Power pistol is the sidearm carried by the Taliban Leader Mullah Razzan (Numan Acar).
Rifles/Carbines
M4A1 Carbine
Captain Mitch Nelson (Chris Hemsworth) and other Special Forces soldiers use M4A1 carbines with a variety of attachments. Note that all of the M4A1s in the film sport the period-correct (for 2001) N1 CAR stock, as the LE "waffle"-style stock was not widely available in 2001, when the events of the film took place. Independent Studio Services (ISS), which provided all weapons in the movie, sourced multiple Colt-manufactured N1 CAR stocks (which had long been out of production at the time of filming) at the production's request, in order to accurately depict the M4A1 setup in use with U.S. special operations forces during the early-2000s.
AKM
Most of the Northern Alliance soldiers and the Taliban militants are armed with AKM rifles.
AKMS
Some of the Northern Alliance soldiers and the Taliban fighters use AKMS rifles.
AKMS (Shortened)
Some of the Taliban and Northern Alliance fighters are armed with shortened AKMS rifles. Taliban commander Mullah Razzan (Numan Acar) uses a shortened AKMS while battling Northern Alliance forces.
AKMSU
Some of the Northern Alliance soldiers and the Taliban fighters use AKMSU rifles.
Norinco Type 56
Northern Alliance commander Ahmed Lal (Laith Nakli) uses a Norinco Type 56 rifle with an AK-74-style muzzle brake as his main weapon.
Sa vz. 58 V
Some of the Northern Alliance soldiers and Taliban fighters use Czech Sa vz. 58 V rifles.
Lee-Enfield No. 1 Mk III*
The Lee-Enfield No. 1 Mk III* is carried by a young Afghan Northern Alliance soldier named Najeeb (Arshia Mandavi).
M24A1 Sniper Weapon System
An M24A1 Sniper Weapon System in tan is also used by the Green Berets, namely Fred Falls (Austin Stowell).
Machine Guns
PKM
The PKM is used by both Taliban and Northern Alliance forces.
DShK
Several T-72 tanks have DShK heavy machine guns mounted atop them. The DShK heavy machine gun is also seen mounted on a Taliban technicals.
M240B
An M240B is seen mounted on US Army Humvees at the HQ.
General Dynamics GAU-17/A
The GAU-17/A Miniguns are seen mainly on the U.S. Army Spec. Ops. MH-47 Chinook helicopters carrying the troops.
KPV heavy machine gun
Twin KPV Heavy Machine Guns are seen in an ZPU-2 dual anti-aircraft mount.
Other
M203 Grenade Launcher
Several U.S. Army Special Forces soldiers carry M203 Grenade Launchers mounted to their M4A1 carbines.
RPG-7
Other militants use RPG-7 launchers with PGO-7 sights. An RPG is also used by SFC Ben Milo (Trevante Rhodes).
F-1 hand grenade
A Soviet F-1 hand grenade is seen thrown in the direction of Mitch, who picks up and throws it back.
