The investigator Leo Pfeffer is supposed to uncover the background of Gavrilo Princip and his accomplices. However, in his investigations, he comes to the conclusion that the case is not as obvious as the powerful people of the country would like it to be. With these views, however, he does not make friends among the military.
The 1975 Czechoslovak-Yugoslav movie The Day That Shook the World tells a similar story.
