I'm fairly certain the selector switch is the only difference between the Glock 17 and the Glock 18. I also can't see any police force, not even one in a film, giving their officers Glock 18 handguns as sidearms. How do you figure the Glocks are Glock 18s? --Funkychinaman

(talk) 09:40, 2 October 2012 (EDT)The shape of the barrel and also magazine at end of handle. But it can also go on some type of Glock 17, is true ...--Pandolfini (talk) 11:57, 2 October 2012 (EDT)

The only difference I'm aware of is the selector switch on the left side of the slide. --Funkychinaman (talk) 12:32, 2 October 2012 (EDT)

I'm fairly certain the selector switch is the only difference between the Glock 17 and the Glock 18. I also can't see any police force, not even one in a film, giving their officers Glock 18 handguns as sidearms. Bristow8411 (talk) 12:55, 2 October 2012 (EDT)

It has happened before.--Funkychinaman (talk) 13:35, 2 October 2012 (EDT)

At the picture looks different - magazine of Glock 18 more fitting to handles.--Pandolfini (talk) 19:06, 2 October 2012 (EDT)

3rd Generation Glock 17 - 9x19mm. Note the finger grooves, thumb reliefs, and accessory rail on the frame, which differentiate it from the older model.
Glock 18C (3rd Generation) - 9x19mm. This model has compensator cuts on the slide and barrel to reduce muzzle climb while firing
I'm pretty sure they can both use the same magazines. The 17 and 33 round magazines are compatible with either gun. --Funkychinaman (talk) 16:49, 2 October 2012 (EDT)
