Spiral (also known as Spiral: From the Book of Saw or Saw IX) is a 2021 American crime thriller film directed by Darren Lynn Bousman and written by Josh Stolberg and Peter Goldfinger. It is the ninth installment in the Saw franchise. The film stars Chris Rock, Max Minghella, Samuel L. Jackson, Marisol Nichols, Richard Zeppieri, Patrick McManus, Edie Inksetter, and Thomas Mitchell.

After finding the mauled corpse of a police detective in the subway, the police are forced to confront and stop a Jigsaw copycat killer who hunts cops only. The original creators of the series, James Wan and Leigh Whannell, as well as Rock and series veteran Kevin Greutert, serve as executive producers. Originally scheduled to be released in May 2020, Spiral was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and was released in the United States on May 14, 2021, by Lionsgate.

Glock 17

Detective Marv "Boz" Bozwick (Dan Petronijevic) holds a 2nd Gen Glock 17 in the opening scene, chasing pickpocket Benny Wrights (Chad Camilleri) in the subway. Detective Zeke Banks (Chris Rock), working undercover, commits a robbery at a motel with a 3rd Gen Glock 17. Many police officers and detectives, including Officer Pat Jones (Trevor Gretzky), Captain Angie Garza (Marisol Nichols), are armed with pistols throughout the film.

A team of police officers arrest the robbers by blocking their way and pointing guns at them. The officer in the background uses an obvious replica with welded barrel due to the proximity of the gun to the other officers.

Officers force the criminals to surrender.
