Saving Jessica Lynch (2003)

Saving Jessica lynch is a film directed by Paul Markle and starring Laura Regan. The storyline is based on a true story during the Invasion of Iraq, when on March 23, 2003, PFC Jessica Lynch, a female soldier of the U.S. Army, was part of a convoy that caught on an ambush in the city of Nasiriyah after making a wrong turn and been captured by Iraqi forces. The film was released on November 9, 2003 and it is the first film to take place during the War in Iraq.

M4A1 Carbine

The M4A1 is used by few Marines and Army Rangers, fitted with foregrips, Aimpoint sights, ACOG scopes, laser designators and a tactical flashlights.

M16A1 Rifle

The M16A1 with A2-style handguards is used by the majority of the American forces, including PFC Jessica Lynch (Laura Regan). It is easy to noticed that these are M16A1 rifles by the brass deflectors and elevation-adjustable rear sights, older forward assists, and the obvious fully automatic firing mode.

Putting the distinctive A2 handguards on the older rifle was a method used by Movie/TV armorers to simulate A2 rifles when M16A1s were the only ones available. Ruger Mini-14

A Ruger Mini-14 with folding stock and shortened barrel is used by one of the insurgent leaders when executing civilians and ex-Iraqi army soldiers.

AK-47

The AK-47 is used by both Iraqi soldiers and insurgents.

Type I AK-47, hybrid stamped/milled receiver with prototype slab sided magazine - 7.62x39mm

AKS-47

Same as the AK-47, the AKS variant is used by many Iraqi insurgents.

M60 Machine Gun

Few M60s can be seen mounted on light assault vehicles and used by the Iraqi insurgents.

M60D machine guns are mounted on the Black Hawk helicopters who brought the rescue team for PFC Jessica Lynch and the other American POWs.

A Type 69 RPGs can be seen twice fired on the U.S. convoy when it enters the city of Nasiriyah.

Browning M2HB Heavy Machine Gun

The Browning M2HB is only seen in the beginning of the film, mounted on M1 Abrams tank but never been fired.
