The Following firearms were used in the video game "Mafia II" and its trailers.
M1911
Seems to be the standard pistol throughout the game. From the gameplay I saw it shows Joe giving himself and Vito a Colt M1911A1 but with a 32 round magazine, it is strange though, it shows the reloading after like 10 shots and it would have been more interesting if the gun was fully-automatic. This weapon is seen being used by Vit, Joe and Henry throughout the game. In the trailer we see Joe kill two men with it and Henry kill a man beging him not to while we see Joe and Vito in the back with the same weapon. In a different version of this Henry is shot in the leg by the man before he is about to kill him with his M1911 which has Joe and Vito shoot him. In a trailer the fat mans guards fire at Vito and his crew when they are spotted before Vito shoots his MG42.
Thompson Submachine Gun
The Main Submachine Gun of gangsters and World War II U.S. Soldiers. The Thompson M 1928 commonly seen with a 50 round drum. The gameplay video shows it being almost uncontrolable, this is probably because the game has no lock on system. Whenever your in the Drivers seat and your chasing someone, Joe will use this weapon until it runs out. When Henry is shot in the leg, Joe uses a Thompson to kill the man with Vito. Recently in a new trailer, the original thompson was seen.
Beretta Model 38
As seen in gameplay footage.
Gun Shop
A poster of an MG34 is seen in the background as well as numerous cases of various ammunition boxes, gas masks, and artillery shells for some reason
M3A1 "Grease Gun"
Seen in gunshop.
There is also a gameplay video from GDC showcasing a bunch of gangsters shooting up a diner with Thompsons and a baldy with the M3A1. In the second developer diary you can see Vito wielding a M3A1 in 1:07 http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusive-developer-mafia-ii/65300

MP40 submachine gun
Also seen in gun shop screen.
MG42
Vito Scaletta is seen holding an MG42 in the gun shop screen. In a trailer we see the man with an eye patch is seen holding this. Vito is then seen firing it into the fat mans car until it explodes.
Remington 870 Field gun
A Remington 870 is seen on the table in the gun shop screen. From the trailer you can see this weapon being used by a line of Mobsters shooting at you. Recent gameplay shows Vito using the shotgun.
Colt Detective Special
3rd gen model. Appears as the .38 Revolver. Main sidearm of the Empire City Police Department.
Smith & Wesson Model 19
Vito is seen firing an Smith & Wesson Model 19 in many gameplays.
