Love Me Tender was a 1956 Post-Civil War drama directed by Robert D. Webb that marked the feature film acting debut of Elvis Presley. In the film, Presley stars as a young man who finds himself at odds with his new wife and the Civil War veteran brother whom he thought had been killed in the war. The film's cast also included Richard Egan and Neville Brand.

The following weapons were used in the film Love Me Tender:

Revolvers

Single Action Army (visually modified as Remington 1858 New Army)

Single Action Army revolvers, visually modified to resemble Remington 1858 New Army, are widely used in the movie. They are used by Reno brothers - Lt. Vance Reno (Richard Egan), Clint (Elvis Presley), Ray (James Drury) and Brett (William Campbell), by cavalrymen of Lt. Reno's unit - Sgt. Mike Gavin (Neville Brand), Pardee Fleming (L.Q. Jones), Kelso (Ken Clark), and by some other characters.

Note: see additional images on talk page.

Remington 1858 New Army

Several genuine Remington 1858 New Army are also seen in the movie. They appear to be cartrige conversion as the cylinders lack slots for caps. Remingtons of Clint Reno (Elvis Presley), Brett Reno (William Campbell), Ray Reno (James Drury) and Pardee Fleming (L.Q. Jones) several times switch to visually modified SAA revolvers and back again.

The outlook of Clint's revolver reveals it as a genuine Remington rather than an SAA based mockup.

Ray Reno (at the left) holds a revolver, taken from Texas ranger Ed Galt (Russ Conway).
The staghorn grip of Ray's (former Galt's) revolver is seen
One of Brett's revolvers is a genuine Remington while another one is a visually modified SAA. In this scene real and fake Remington revolvers switch there and back several times.
Clint's revolver is seen. It is definitely cartridge conversion.
Ray's revolver with staghorn grip is seen.
Pardee Fleming holds same revolver with staghorn grip, taken from Ray Reno.

Smith & Wesson New Model No.3

Official Mr. Siringo (Robert Middleton) carries an anachronistic Smith & Wesson New Model No.3. The revolver is captured from him by Vance Reno (Richard Egan).

Flintlock Carbine

During the battle on the railway station one of Lt. Reno's cavalrymen carries a flintlock carbine in saddle holster. This is an outdated weapon for American Civil War.
