Les Morfalous (1984)

Les Morfalous (literally The Greedy-Guts, in French argot) is a 1984 French action-comedy movie by Henri Verneuil starring Jean-Paul Belmondo, featuring the French Foreign Legion during the Second World War.

Luger P08

Sgt. Pierre Augagneur (Jean-Paul Belmondo) several times took Luger P08 from captured German officers.

Luger P08 9x19mm. This is a 1917 dated handgun, thus it is a World War One firearm.

Several French legionaires including Sgt. Pierre Augagneur (Jean-Paul Belmondo) can be seen with Sten Mk II submachine gun.

German soldiers are armed with MP40 submachine guns. After legionaries killed two of them they took German uniform and MP40s.

Bren MG

Boissier (Michel Creton) and Augagneur (Jean-Paul Belmondo) used a Bren MG in the opening scene.

When the German soldiers attacked the French legionnaires, they are using MG34 machine guns.

Madsen Model 1924 Tank Gun

Madsen Model 1924 tank guns are seen mounted on the trucks in the opening scene. They appear to be mocked up to resemble Browning M1919 machine guns by fitting a cosmetic boc over the bottom and rear of the receiver, but they can be identified as Madsens by the shape of the top of the receiver. The cosmetic alterations to the gun obstruct the belt feed of the gun meaning that they would be unable to function, however these guns have never fired in the movie.

The gunner was shot before he could open fire. Note the the last round on the belt is hooked into a slot in such a way that the next round would not be able to feed into the gun. This is purely to hold the belt in place for this M1919 mock up, with the actual belt feed on a Madsen being lower.

Other

Model 24 Stielhandgranate

When legionaries dress German uniform, Sgt. Pierre Augagneur (Jean-Paul Belmondo) took Model 24 Stielhandgranate but never used it.

Flare Pistol

A flare pistol is used by Germans.

Rocket Launcher

A rocker launcher is seen in hands of French soldiers in the final scene. It is a little blurry and hard to identify. Due to its size it can be M20 "Super Bazooka" or RL-83 Blindicide or some other launcher.

Austrian SK-105 Kürassier light tank (produced in 1970s) acts as a German tank.

Panhard AML 90 Armoured Car

French Panhard AML 90 armoured car (produced in 1960s) acts as a German armoured car.

Howitzer 105 mm M2

Augagneur (Jean-Paul Belmondo) and Beral (Jacques Villeret) used 105mm M2 howitzer to destroy the German stronghold.

Mortar

German soldiers used mortars during the ambush scene.
