Lawmen: Bass Reeves - Season 1 is a 2023 Western streaming series starring David Oyelowo as Bass Reeves, the first black U.S. Deputy Marshal in United States history west of the Mississippi River. Based on actual events, the series follows Reeves as an enslaved servant to a Confederate Cavalry Colonel during the Civil War to his time apprehending outlaws for the U.S. Marshal Service, after the end of the Civil War, in the Indian Territory (present day Oklahoma) during the time of the Wild West. The series is being executive produced by Oyelowo and Taylor Sheridan and the cast includes Dennis Quaid, Shea Whigham, Barry Pepper and Donald Sutherland. The series premiered on the streaming service Paramount+ on November 5, 2023.

Remington 1875

In "Part III" (S1E03), Mabel Underwood (Paula Malcomson) is seen armed with a Remington 1875 revolver. This revolver also is seen in the hands of Billy Crow (Forest Goodluck).

Colt Single Action Army "Cavalry"

In "Part IV" (S1E04), Bass now carries the "Cavalry" model of the Single Action Army revolver as his sidearm.

Double Barreled Percussion Shotgun

The Double-Barreled Percussion Shotgun is the firearm used by several characters in the series.

Another shotgun is used at the left during a confrontation with Esau Pierce (Barry Pepper) in "Part I" (S1E01).

12 Gauge Double-barreled Side-by-Side Shotgun

In "Part IV" (S1E04), a 12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun is seen used by Widow Dolliver (Dale Dickey) during a confrontation at her cabin.

Charles Parker 1878 Side by Side Shotgun - 12 Gauge. The Parker Gun Company was absorbed into Remington in 1934.

In "Part IV" (S1E04), a 12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun is seen used by Widow Dolliver (Dale Dickey) during a confrontation at her cabin.

Rifles

Henry 1860

In "Part I" (S1E01), Col. George Reeves (Shea Whigham) pulls out what appears to be a Henry 1860 rifle and gives it to Bass to carry during a charge. Bass continues to use the rifle following the war.
