Revision as of 05:59, 25 January 2012
The following guns were used in the film High Plains Drifter:
Single Action Army
The Stranger (Clint Eastwood) carries a 7 1/2" Cavalry Single Action Army as his sidearm in the film. Many other characters carry 5 1/2" Artillery models, such as Stacey Bridges (Geoffrey Lewis) and his gang. Mordecai (Billy Curtis) buys himself a nickel plated Cavalry model once Stranger makes him the new Mayor of the town.
Winchester 1892 Saddle Ring Carbine
As Stranger (Clint Eastwood) trains the town to become a fighting militia to combat Stacey Bridges (Geoffrey Lewis) and his gang, he arms many of them with Winchester 1892 Saddle Ring Carbines. Stranger uses one himself to shoot off one of Bridges' men's ears while in the valley.
12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun
12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotguns are used by many characters in the film, mainly the townspeople.
Webley Bulldog
Callie Travers (Marianna Hill) uses a Webley Bulldog to try and shoot Stranger (Clint Eastwood) in the bath tub after he "rapes" her.
Remington 1863 Pocket Pistol
The gun shop owner offers Mordecai (Billy Curtis) a Remington 1863 Pocket Pistol to match his size, but Mordecai chooses the larger Single Action Army instead.
Smith & Wesson 4th Model
A Smith & Wesson 4th Model is seen hanging in the gun shop.
Winchester 1873
Two Winchester 1873 rifles are seen on a rack in the gun shop, noted by their brass dropping blocks.
Winchester 1964
Two Winchester 1894 rifles are seen in the gunshop, but based on their brass finish it is assumed they are the commemorative 1964 models, which would have been relatively easy to acquire at the time.
Gun Shop Pistol Case
In the gun shop, there are several pistols seen in the glass presentation case. Unfortunately they are seen at an angle which makes single identification difficult. Most of them appear to be cap-and-ball Colt revolvers such as Colt Dragoons and Colt 1851 Navy revolvers, and some appear to be Single Action Army revolvers.
