The following guns were used in the film Hellboy

Hellboy (2004)

Samaritan

Hellboy's (Ron Perlman) personal sidearm, the Samaritan, of which he aquired in the '50s, he named it the "Samaritan" because it puts monsters out of their misery. The metal of the gun is forged from a combination of Irish church bells, cold iron from crucifixes, blessed silver, and other mystic metals. The grips have the BPRD insignia on each side and the wood of the grips is believed to be that of the cross of which Jesus Christ was crucified on. The gun has immense muzzle energy and is believed capable of breaking a normal mans arm due to great recoil. The gun holds 4 shots (although in the film he fires 8) and fires bullets HB makes himself as a hobby. He puts Holy water, Garlic cloves, and white oak shavings in his special rounds. As he calls them, "The Works." The gun uses a tip-open action similiar to a Webley or Schofield action revolver. It fires double action and single action. When out of bullets, HB likes to use it as a hammer as this cannon weighs around 10 pounds!

Hellboy takes the Samaritan out of its case.
Hellboy holds up the Samaritan.
A speed loader for the Samaritan with four glass case bullets filled with holy water, garlic cloves and white oak shavings.
Hellboy gives Myers his tipped-open Samaritan to reload. A goof is that the gun doesn't have empty shells in it when he reloads, yet it is a revolver.

This isn't a goof, the cylinder has 4 ejection ports that lie over each round so when the round is spent and the cylinder cycles the empty shell falls out. I know it woudnt work in reality, but he is a big red half demon...go figure

Hellboy fires a green glowing tracker bullet into Samiel. You can see they even added rifling to the barrel of the prop.

Luger P08

Karl Ruprecht Kroenen (Ladislav Beran) uses a Luger P08 early in the film and after firing(realistically) 8 shots, he tosses it down to use his blades.

Note: The gun is not a blank gun as the action never functions as he fires it and its action does not lock back when he is out of bullets. The flash was likely added in post production.

Luger P08 9mm
Kroenen fires his Luger at some US soldiers. You can see nothing cycles making it a prop with muzzle flash added in post production. There is also a good shot of an MP40 as well.
Kroenen's gun clicks empty yet notice the toggle isn't locked up.

Heckler & Koch USP Compact

Both John Meyers (Rupert Evans) and Clay (Corey Johnson) use Heckler & Koch USP Compact (modified with regular USP hammers) as their personal sidearms throughout the film. Note: Meyers gun is a fake, as when firing the action does not function and no shells fly out. Guards at the museum are seen using both stainless steel slide version and regular versions as well. Clay's gun is a blank gun as seen when he confronts Kroenen.

H&K USP Compact 9mm.
Myers fires his USP comapct. Note how nothing cycles, meaning the gun isn't a blank gun. Another goof is the muzzle flash is white yet yellow lights sorround him, which would make the muzzle flash yellow, as muzzle flash color is changed by light settings.
A guard fires his USP compact at Kroenen. The man next to him has a stainless slide model.
Agent Clay fires his USP compact at Kroenen. His is a blank gun as it cylces and even locks empty.
Clay's USP compact locks empty. In the next shot though, the slide is unlocked.

Colt M1911A1

In the opening sequence, Sgt. Whitman (Angus MacInnes) first offers his M1911A1 to Young Prof. Broom (Kevin Trainor) then uses his .45 sidearm later to protect Broom from the advancing Kroenen. Many of the soldiers also use their .45s when they first see Hellboy.
